Dissection

Germander Speedwell was cultivated as a safe outlet for the irrepressible wordplaying of Evrah, as well as an excuse to continue to accumulate printed matter on a myriad of subjects.

Germander's carefully collated collections of words are characterised by:

excessive use of assonance and alliterationuse of uncontrolled plosivesteasing of terminology and tampering with nomenclaturesprinklings of spoonerismswrigglings of rhythmsare either rife with fact, or riddled with fancyand contain no artificial adjectives!

These pieces are best experienced read aloud, and in performance are usually accompanied by some explanation of the curious and amusing terminology used.

Germander is also the proud owner of a collection of curious and quaint written and

visual material, which is often also displayed or is available for inspection.

Warning:

Should you be so feckless as to confuse Germander Speedwell with the Common Speedwell, and thenceforth proceed to pluck the Common Speedwell from the ground, it is said that birds will descend upon you and peck out your eyes (harsh but just punishment, for sloppy identification!)

Should you however pick the comparatively compassionate Germander Speedwell, birds will swoop upon you and give you a very stern talking to. But do not risk their wrath. Their words are harsh,

and their cries piercing.
